Greetings Baja users and guests, this question is for those of you who know a bit about lua. Here is my area of concern, I am trying to figure out how I could script it so that when the player pushes a button within a certain area of an object, upon pushing the button certain frames from the animation will play and then stop. Also how would I make it so that when you walked through the newly open (or closed) object, a loading screen pops up and takes you to a new map. If you could give me an idea that would be Great. If you cannot help me but you know a place I can get help with it, just link it or send me a Private Message. Thank you

John

I'm not trying to get you to try a new engine, but if you go to crymod.com and ask this same question in the scripting section, I believe someone can answer your question. This is because the FarCry engine (CryEngine1) also uses .lua scripting

while the cryengine may use lua, it won't be useful to see how their code works because things like buttons/animations/etc are engine specific. We use the same language, but because lua itself doesn't have the concept of 'doors' the way that you would open doors in Baja is different than in the cryengine.

I'm sorry that I didn't answer your question earlier ieatcow... I can't really tell you how to do all of that stuff b/c it would basically require me to write your game for you lol, but code for doing basically all of that is given in the techdemo so you should start there. Feel free to ask me specific questions about problems you run into.
